It's not a security fix that broke it, it was Android switching the
browser engine from WebKit to Chromium.
The related security aspect is that some people suggested uninstalling
that particular update but that leaves you with an insecure phone
because you are then using a browser that hasn't been fixed for more
than a year and that therefore does have known vulnerabilities
