Since  you are having basic issues with various non DSD/standard plus
PCM rates they just may not be compatible.       Did you try an active
USB 2.0 powered Hub?       If not give it a try.    Unfortunately I had
a similar issue with my new SC-89 Pioneer Receivers USB DAC feature.    
Plus the USB port on the A/V doesnt support a hub so that doesnt help
my problem.        My solution was to change to a completely different
linux based small PC form-factor running squeezeplay.        This fixed
the compatibility issue.
