Sorry.
Sounds like it's ALL technology you want to get away from (except eBay, of course ;-) ) Most of us have become uncomfortably dependent on several modern technologies - internet, cell phones, cable TV.... On the other hand, I can find out nearly anything about anything at anytime (thanks internet, Google, etc); I am reachable and can reach others from almost anywhere (and don't have to look for a phone booth - thanks to Cell Phones), and have access to 100's of TV channels (well, that may not be a good thing, but the DVR helps!), oh, and by the way, I can listen to any of my music on a whim, from anywhere in my house, without having to find a particular 12-inch piece of vinyl, place it on a turntable, lovingly clean it, and try to land the needle on a particular track!!!! My clocks also stay accurate thanks to my server staying synchronized via NTP, and providing that to all of my Squeezebox players throughout the house. I guess, for me, I'll put up with the occasional annoyance of a particular piece of hardware acting up occasionally in exchange for the benefits they provide. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ tcutting's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=17402 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=105806 _______________________________________________ Touch mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/touch
