That doesn’t mean it won’t correct it now, or stop it from happening
again in the future.

DHCP is constantly reshuffling machine addresses.  All it takes is a
boot code or IP assignment glitch on either the client or the server
end, and the connection is lost.

Windows machines have been increasingly notorious at maintaining
networking stability in this regard in recent years.  Removing things
that never leave the ride from the DHCP merry-go-round solves many such
problems.
