My reason for giving my CD's, VHS tapes or even clothing for charity
purpose is to help those that may have less. I built my CD collection,
starting back in the late 80's while stationed in Portland Or. Portland
was shocking a big Jazz city and there were many pawn shops that had
large collection of used Jazz music. I would pay penny's on the dollar
for many of those older CD's, so I am just paying it forward. If you
live in a affluent area you can get some great deals from estate sells
and places like the Goodwill and Salvation Army, but sad to say I don't
live in one of those cities and a few people like that have a passion
for Home Theater and audio are the ones that can offer something to my
community. The example I set is two fold as one I have taught my
children the experience of good audio and Home Theater and second being
kind hearted to others when you obviously have more than you need. I
have giving speakers, TV's and AVR's to neighbors, friends and family
over the years. When I upgrade, doesn't mean my old gear is completely
out dated, Its just that I have moved on. Now for my own guilty pleasure
of doing this is when I go visit those I have help, that I will enjoy
the experience as much as if I was home.
