Thanks to both. I was going to push a spare Touch through my shiny new AudioEngine A2s. Input options there are 2xPhono, 3.5mm jack, USB, Bluetooth. Phonos will work fine, but I thought the USB as a digital option would be worth a try. When next I am in front of that particular Touch, I'll fiddle with that EDO Applet (to which there seems to be a good guide here - https://darko.audio/2012/05/enhanced-digital-output-applet-for-squeezebox-touch/ ), and see what happens.
