Town 2.2?

I am considering using Town for a new project.  However, looking at the
list archive at mail-archive.com, there doesn't seem to be much
activity.  A Build 2.2 was mentioned in October, 2000, but nothing has
materialized.  What's the status of Town and when can we expect a new
release?
