Hello, I would like to introduce myself. My name is Clay Smith and I am a computer science student wanting to participate in the google summer of code. I believe that this organization would be the best match for me as I spend a lot of my free time developing game related code for my own 2D game library (http://www.dsource.org/projects/arclib) and I use this library to help another developer write a 2D Space Game Simulation (http://www.dsource.org/projects/freeuniverse). I am also a hard core starcraft fan, it is my favorite game to this day. Right now I am the process of gathering as much information about this project as possible, so I can make the best application possible. I am also going to be hanging around in the IRC and these forums for a bit now asking questions as needed. About myself, I am a 21 year old student at Winona State University. While I am in school I have very little free time, but I have still found a way to make time for my own project following quite a rigorous schedule (I sacrifice weekend sleep time now) because I believe in my own project so strongly, getting about 4hrs per week done even with all my schoolwork. I first started programming by teaching myself the C language in high school, then C++, and now the D language as well. While those are my strongest three languages, I also have had experience with ruby, python, javascript, C#, XML/XHTML, MIPS, Ada, Visual Basic .Net, Java, and C#.
