As Lee noted, I did the very same thing for libtpproto-java, because I was too lazy to generate all the classes by hand ;) That also includes some cleanups of the protocol files. The work was done on experimental and experimental-xml branches; I already merge the latter to master in my local repo but I haven't pushed it yet (there seems to be no opposition, so I think I'll do it soonish).
