Is that page completely up to date? I noticed references to init files at the 
bottom, which I thought had gone now.

Why can't it just assume the program is on the path? Maybe prompt if it's not 
found?

It is possible to alter the files and place them in the right place, at least 
in automake/autoconf.

I am planning to do a release in the next week or so. I don't think there is 
much else but this to be done.

I'll be putting together my first pass on this tonight.
