Happy new year to everyone. Let's start 2009 with a type II supernova and get some of our recent developments out to the public! The tpclient-pywx single player functionality has been more or less ready for release for some time, but there are still a few things we need to accomplish before it can move forward. We want to get a release candidate out soon, with support for MiniSec and Risk. Here is a list of general action items; my hope is that we can nail down some specific goals (particularly for #2). All feedback is appreciated.
1. New tpserver-cpp Release Although the single player mode does not yet necessarily require the administration protocol or any other post-5.1 features, as a release is imminent, I would like to do testing against it. Also, one of our target rulesets is Risk, which will be included in the new release. 2. AI Client Release We need an AI client ready to install before we can present the single player mode to end users. Tim has suggested GenCon, which would require Java packaging for both itself and for an official release of libtpproto-java. Alternatively, we could use daneel-ai, which uses the Python stuff but probably also requires some work to make a tidy package. Better still would be to release with both. Note that the package(s) would need to install the appropriate single player XML file(s), which I can help with. Could we get some feedback from the developers (including Krzysztof) on this? 3. GUI Polish I am not terribly good at making nice wx/GTK interfaces. Perhaps someone more experienced with wxPython could take a look at the single player wizard and make it look a little better? I am available to help with what's currently in there. This isn't absolutely necessary for a functional release candidate, but would be nice before a final release. -- Aaron Mavrinac www.mavrinac.com PGP Public Key: http://www.mavrinac.com/pgp.asc _______________________________________________ tp-devel mailing list [email protected] http://www.thousandparsec.net/tp/mailman.php/listinfo/tp-devel
