Encouraging (Trac) Development hits on several barriers. One is the license issue, which is solved (Trac's very liberal BSD2 license) See this message for some background information: http://groups.google.com/group/trac-dev/msg/d68b88f3810e2e97 - Another barrier is, to find a 'healthy' way to combine Open Source with Commercial Interests. I think that I am close to have an solution for this, by simply publishing working plans: http://dev.lazaridis.com/base/wiki/WorkingPlans This gives the necessary visibility to attract commercial clients, but _only_ when contributing actively to the open-source project. > CCP has, throughout the years, had volunteers working on EVE Online doing > things from testing to serious programming. Different mentalities can create non-solvable conflicts, which decrease development throughput. Although not sure yet, I think that I am close to a solution for one of the 'central desasters' within open source: http://case.lazaridis.com/wiki/Mentality > Anyways, a too-long email pointing out a small thing! > > Blog entry: > http://myeve.eve-online.com/devblog.asp?a=blog&bid=389 > > Comments: > http://myeve.eve-online.com/ingameboard.asp?a=topic&threadID=413559 > > Cheers, > Bjorn Swift --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Trac Development" group.
