Scriptability is important.  If we're winding up with a lot of duplication, 
 that doesn't mean the goal is wrong, but that we need to work on the design.

I've wound up writing scripts in python and using the Trac API there for 
scripting jobs.  And I've written scripts around 'sqlite3' for others.  So 
there's a lot of room for improvement.
