Well, I think that even if that functionality is to be provided
by a plugin, there are a few things that we should consider in
Trac Core to facilitate this:
* What are the extensions points in the TracBrowser
that would be needed for this?
* The `versioncontrol` API will probably be extended to support
writing to the repository (see also #1132 and #781).
If so, this should make it easy for such a plugin to be written
in a VersioningSystemBackend independant way.
