Summarizing some progress this issue has seen today:
There were indeed tons of segfaults recorded in the Apache error.log. This
is since the introduction of virtual hosts, so this ''might'' be related
to #2611/#2965, though the SVN bindings used so far were 1.1.4 and
switching to 1.2.3 didn't help.
