Trac is *very* (I do hyperbolize this) slow on my system using standard CGI (I'm using Windows 2003 Server Enterprise SP1). mod_python was fast (really, I have tried it back then when I was still using Apache 1.3) but now I prefer Apache 2.0 and mod_python isn't available (yet). So the last option would be either mod_fastcgi or mod_fcgid. Neither works. I would assume the problem isn't Trac itself but my fastCGI installation. Since this happens also to my Ruby/Rails installation. The Rails CGI works fine but fails if I use mod_fcgi/mod_fastcgi. Maybe I should consult FastCGI's mailing list on this.
