I think we had something similar during 0.10dev up to r3160 as well, 
when the static resources are served by the Chrome component. Some of 
the requests for pictures, .css files etc. could abort because of 
database locks.

So either upgrade to 0.10b1 or current trunk, or make sure that the 
htdocs resources are not served by Trac directly
(http://trac.edgewall.org/wiki/TracCgi#MappingStaticResources).
