+1 on dropping the requirement of leading spaces. Note also that if you adopt the WikiCreole form of: * item 1 ** item 1.1 * item 2 I *think* that the old-fashioned emacs outline mode works better. (and I admit that I'm mainly editing wiki pages using trac-wiki mode (1). It's *very* nice.)
