That document doesn't tell the full story and is a bit misleading. On this specific issue, there should be no problem using an earlier version of Python provided that the version of libexpat which is used by Apache is compatible with the version of expat embedded into the Python pyexpat module. Ok. So if I run Trac with FastCGI it should be ok since it doesn't matter that much whether the expat linked to the python stuff is the same as the one linked to apache, right ?
