I do have the LdapPlugin installed, and use it to store permissions
within the LDAP database.  On the Apache side of things, I use
mod_auth_ldap and the Apache 2.0.x series of daemons to provide the
authentication and it works great.

Still, I need a way to reliably secure the connection.
