Trac   Fine Grained Permissions

Erik,

I am kinda new to all of this ...

The link unzipped (on Windows) contains ... the following ....

c:\tmp\downloads\restrictedareaplugin\0.10\setup.py
c:\tmp\downloads\restrictedareaplugin\0.10\restrictedarea\__init__.py
c:\tmp\downloads\restrictedareaplugin\0.10\restrictedarea\filter.py

I have never installed a trac python plugin ....

I used easy_install to install the source:

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:/tmp$ sudo easy_install
http://trac-hacks.org/svn/restrictedareaplugin/
Password:
Downloading http://trac-hacks.org/svn/restrictedareaplugin/
Doing subversion checkout from
http://trac-hacks.org/svn/restrictedareaplugin/ to
/tmp/easy_install-TrK_IP/restrictedareaplugin
Processing restrictedareaplugin
Running 0.10/setup.py -q bdist_egg --dist-dir
/tmp/easy_install-TrK_IP/restrictedareaplugin/0.10/egg-dist-tmp-R7tlO9
zip_safe flag not set; analyzing archive contents...
Adding TracRestrictedArea 1.0.0 to easy-install.pth file

Installed
/usr/lib/python2.4/site-packages/TracRestrictedArea-1.0.0-py2.4.egg
Processing dependencies for TracRestrictedArea==1.0.0
Finished processing dependencies for TracRestrictedArea==1.0.0

Made the recommended updates to the trac.ini

[components]
restrictedarea.filter = enabled
webadmin.* = enabled

[restrictedarea]
paths = /wiki/PowerStreamV03R01B

cycled the webserver

Did not enable .... Oooops !! My bad ! Then I discovered this is only
available for Versions 10.2+ ... we are currently running 09.3 our
new server is in the process of being configured / installed .... it will
be running Version 10.4 .... so guess will have to wait till then

A thought ... I think trac supports inline HTML ... any way to HIDE
access of certain pages to certain USERS in HTML ... ?

Anyway ... thanks for your help ... I did learn about installing python
plugins and did get the WEBADMIN plugin installed and working ....

Best Regards,

Joe
