Well...if something's broken with Google Groups, it's still not profitable to
yell at the
other group members and threaten to shut down the whole list (not that that's
what Danny is
doing -- he's actually been the soul of courtesy). I don't fault Jani for
assuming that
someone so pushy and rude was one of those people who can't be bothered to do
things for
themselves; it's hardly an uncommon phenomenon.

That has to do with Usenet newsgroups, and contains no followups. And when I
Google for
"cannot unsubscribe google group", I don't see anything else relevant; plenty
of results, but
mostly just copies of list posts from Google groups, since they have the
unsubscription
instructions in them. Ah, wait; actually, there's one from the jQuery group.

In any case, unsubscription problems are the business of the affected user, the
list owner,
and maybe Google Groups itself; the general list membership really isn't at
fault. Here's the
link for contacting the list owner, whoever that may be:

This boilerplate help file has some ideas about using headers to make sure
which of your
addresses is subscribed:

http://groups.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?answer=76883&query=can%27t+unsubscribe&topic=&type=
http://groups.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?answer=75960&topic=9244

Danny has provided all his possible addresses so the admin can look for them in
the
management interface, but Mr. Threaten-The-List hasn't.

And then there's the actual Google technical report page, though the Usenet
group problem
doesn't seem to have gotten resolved that way.

Good luck; it does look like something may be wrong in some cases with Google
unsubscription.
Hopefully this thread will give people with this problem some outlets other
than yelling at
the other list members! ;)
