Perhaps you should also explain what you mean by top posting, as I'm sure many people on this group are unfamiliar with the term. Basically, top posting is a bad habit (and unfortunately promoted by GMail, which leads me to do it myself sometimes) of posting a reply with the text that you're replying to below the reply, so that one has to scroll to the bottom of the mail to even get an idea of what you're responding to. In threaded mail clients like GMail it's not generally a problem, but for some people top posting is an irritation because there's no context given up front for whatever you're talking about. Also, don't forget to trim out signature lines, and especially the lines generated by Google Groups.
