Actually, I think I "may" of found a potential solution, albeit, longer term. I am playing with the idea of integrating ganttPV with Trac via the XMLRPC interface. It might be the actual, non-embedded solution I would like, both are python, both have xmlrpc. I just am not sure if ganttPV acutally does what I need it to do. I really just need to be able to assign resources, across projects, based on perceived workloads. and hopefully, limit the penalties developers take while multi-tasking (an unfortunate reality here, I just can't make it go away) combined with adding subversion and Mylyn integration with Eclipse (another tool I begrudgingly have to accept as useful, although I will put my head in the sand and stick with VI :) I may just be able to eventually reduce the admin overhead for developers to let them do their thing! It will be a while before I actually have the skill and time to do this, so if anyone else has a better option, let me know. I am seeing some Mylyn plugins that might actually be a better end-around for what I am after, but not sure yet. We don't follow pure "agile" or extreme methods, we can't, we are more of an Iterative Waterfall type (Spiral of Death (tm), as one person here dubbed it) weird methodology thing, most of the tools I have seen lean toward agile and extreme, which is a poor fit. Options welcomed! now that I added the whole Eclipse/Mylyn platform into the mix, I am hoping that opens up some alternate suggestions. I just want the darn milestones, tickets and estimations to be driven/ populated from Trac! dang-darn-it. Off for a "meeting" now...sigh.
