ok, I was premature.  in the trac.ini file, there is a section
[browser]
with a property
downloadable_paths

you could put your "invisible" stuff in a directory that is not
concluded in those lists. it defautls to:
/trunk, /branches/*, /tags/*

so, for example, if you just moved your copyrighted material to /audio
as a peer to /trunk, that in theory should prevent it from being seen
in the browers.

I haven't actually tried this, but now that I think of it, very handy
for me as well.
