Ok, I have solved this; its rather a crude solution but I simply copied the missing modules from the working installation on my fedora machine to my Red Hat machine. I think that the problem was caused after I unwittingly installed python2.5 on my Red Hat machine which already had python 2.4 on it. As a result when I used easy_install to install other modules it installed them into the incorrect python site- packages folders...
