It's resizeable. right-click|Properties|layout tab. Once you get a
size you like, you can select the "modify the short-cut that created
this window" option so that the setting are always there. (I happen
to have the prompt icon on my taskbar for convienience).

On the general page you'll probably want to enable quick-edit mode.
it allows you to cut/paste with right clicks only, rather than the
stupid windows right-click on taskbar| mark text, right-click on
taskbar|copy, right-click on taskbar|paste. that is so retarded.
quick edit lets you left click-drag to highlight (link 'nix) then just
right click copies to clipboard (middle click equivalent in xterm)
the next right click pastes. There's the gvim component too, which is
not my style, but I hear it's quite nice. I keep hearing there is
some other kind of Darpa navagation tool other than lynx too, I might
look into that :D

The most crumby part about windows dev is going in an setting up your
paths. Another handy tip is to add a right-click menu item in
explorer to open the DOS prompt "here" so to speak. You'll have to
google that, I forget the exact details.

It's not so bad, just a matter of setting up some convenience
features, just like you do in unix to make it that much easier.
