Hi all,
I'm in the process of just setting up a home server for a development
project, and Trac is on my list of things to install. Things have gone
well, but I've run into a strange problem that I can't debug.
One example of the problem is that when I try and add a mailestone
from the Roadmap, it simply doesn't add. No errors on the interface or
in the logs, and no new milestone. Trac simply takes me back to the
Roadmap view and nothing is added. Adding milestones works fine
through the administration panel, so I'm smelling a permissions issue?
Another instance of the problem are attachments silently failing in
the wiki editor (text edits go through fine).
I configured my Trac users by adding the following into my httpd.conf
file:
<Location /trac>
SetHandler mod_python
PythonHandler trac.web.modpython_frontend
PythonOption TracEnvParentDir /var/trac/projects
PythonOption TracUriRoot /trac
</Location>
<Location /trac/filter/login>
AuthType Basic
AuthName "filter"
AuthUserFile /etc/apache2/dav_svn_filter.passwd
Require valid-user
</Location>
My project's name is 'filter' (there are no other projects), and as
you can see I'm piggy-backing my AuthUserFile onto my SVN user passwd
file. From there, I configure user permissions in the Trac
administration console. The users I am trying to configure all have
TRAC_ADMIN, and I've confirmed they are able to freely add milestones
in the administration panel, but they still cannot add milestones in
the Roadmap view.
I checked my apache access logs, error logs, and my trac.log (it's on
debug), and I can't find any errors. Here is my trac.log output around
the time of adding a milestone:

Are "unreachable objects" causing the problem? I installed trac using
Ubuntu apt-get (9.04 Jaunty Jackalope). Any advice on troubleshooting
this issue is greatly appreciated.
Best,
Branden
