I thought that was exactly the role of [svn:externals], :-)
i.e. to interpret any reference to "svn://myserver/ThirdPartyLibs" in
my svn:externals definition as
http://myserver/projects/test1/browser/$path?rev=$rev
(see my example above).
As Christian mentioned, that is what I understand from
