Please, the way I c it we are gonna start *YET ANOTHER* very, very,
very, very, very, very long thread about setuptools and packaging and
removal and setuptools and * . There are a lot of them at PyDev list.
I invite you to read them in order to know the multiple opinions about
it .

As I always do in these situations, I send a copy to P.J. Eby ,
perhaps he can provide further details.

However I insist, the only reliable way I know so far to achieve this
is to use the OS native pkg manager. There is no reliable way to
remove the pkg using just easy_install + setuptools , and pkg
management is very complex and unreliable considering the features
supported by e.g. apt system
