I will obviously keep a copy of my trac instance. However, if I do an
install, what in my python site_packages should I keep a copy of 'just
in case'? I am not a frequent python user (except indirectly via great
apps like Trac), so I can easily mess up something that a more savy
python user would never allow.

Are there any gotchas if updating from 0.12multirepos (circa May 2009),
and not a more standard 0.11?
