You can do the same (i.e. rendering a link ;) by implementing
`get_link_resolvers` method of `trac.wiki.api.IWikiSyntaxProvider`
interface

Discussion here is beyond custom fields themselves but rather about
WikiFormatting and one-liners, and ... so, honestly I guess that
documenting this in CF wiki page will be the most
recommended approach.
