If you have "a handful of trac environments" running together in the
same process, just make sure you patch the plugin - it has a serious
leak of information between environments:

As always it is useful to scan the list of open issues for plugins you
look at - open tickets usually tells a good story of the state of the
plugin and the experience of users.
