Sorry, I have not messed with the css stuff myself.  As for learning, have you 
read all the information on the main Trac site?  For customizing the interface, 
start here:-

There is also a search page where you can restrict the search to just the wiki.

There is also a plugin on trac-hacks.org that helps with customising the 
interface (find `theme` on http://trac-hacks.org/ for example)
