Thanks! I ended up keeping the history expanded, but manually selected 
"comments only" (I can select the checkbox from site.html, the option is 
ignored - must be a listener which isn't notified when programmatically changed 
by jQuery).

It turns out that the comments box itself was the eyesore for me, so that was 
the only box I collapsed.
