Hi Blaf, I think it's pretty simple. So don't worry, I will tell your my understanding and practical experience of this TracLinks.
In my point of view, TracLinks are hyperlinks. "TracLinks are a fundamental feature of Trac, because they allow easy hyperlinking between the various entities in the system―such as tickets, reports, changesets, Wiki pages, milestones, and source files―from anywhere WikiFormatting is used" Do you have any sense of post-commit hooks? After setting up a post-commit hook in svn repo, every commit will be automatically added to the trac environment which means you can see changes on "source browser". In the commit comments, you can type "#1". By doing this, you have already linked this svn commit to ticket 1 you can see it in your trac website. You can make a test for yourself.
