It sounds like you don't have an action in your workflow to allow the owner to be changed on closed tickets. I don't edit the workflow too much, but I think you'd need to add something like this: changeowner = closed -> closed changeowner.operations = set_owner changeowner.permissions = TICKET_MODIFY They have an action like that on t.e.o.
