Chris' link will help you to setup the post-commit hook required for the trac commit updater to work. This will auto-insert the commit message into the ticket comments when relevant tokens [1] are present in the commit message. Once the post-commit is setup you will need to use trac-admin to `repository resync` [2] the repository. This can be done for specific revisions if required (e.g. after editing the commit message).
