I wish to do some little customizations to my trac notification emails. 

At the moment, the email subject contains the following format. 



*$prefix #$ticket.id: $summary*But I want to change the prefix based on the 
activity which happened. For an example, if someone commented on the 
ticket, I would like to have a prefix as [commented] etc.

So basically, following are the prefixes we wish to see. 

*[OPENED]*, *[ASSIGNED]*, *[COMMENTED]*, or *[CLOSED]*

I feel this makes the notifications more useful. I tried to change the 
"smtp_subject_prefix" value in the trac ini. But it seems I can't find the 
right values which fit in it. None of the documentation pages were helpful 
with this as they haven't said anything about which values I'm able to pass 
to this field. I would at least like to see the ticket status in the 
subject as the prefix. 

I tried changing the *smtp_subject_prefix* value to *$ticket.status.* But 
when I put that, it uses the default value again. So it's not working. Can 
someone please help me with this? If it's useful to know, I use Bitnami
