hi,

well thought. but i'm unsure if it is not against the basic idea of
trac to be simple. why do you think:
 * http://projects.edgewall.com/trac/wiki/InterTrac
 *
http://projects.edgewall.com/trac/wiki/TracMultipleProjects/MultipleEnvironmentsSingleDatabase
will not lead to a more natural "trac way" handling of multiple projects?

we enjoyed the clear separation of software components, tickets on it,
wiki on it, from highly complex project management with sub projects.

we use trac instances for every component or application, and trac
instances for bigger projectes (no repository attached). also we use
one central wiki as knowledge base (currently moinmoin, as it has a
good access control on page level).

so intertrac seems to be the perfect solution. but you are right, we
are not sure if the following is solved by intertrac links:
* have a consolidated view on ticket dependencies.
* have a consolidated view about efforts and planned efforts for
multiple projects
   triggering tickets in software components.

also we'd like to have a "managment component" wich allows to manage
repositories, and trac instances (e.g. create, delete them). currently
it is just giving a list of the trac instances in one directory and
you can click on them to enter.

any thoughs about this?

-solo.
