Hey, this the best case of use of SVK.
SVK is a distributed addon for SVN and make easier to have how many
branches from a main one that you wish.
In this case, you might, mirror the Trac's branch and branch from
it. From time to time you could ask it to sync its mirror and then
update your local branch.
I do it here for a lot of projects and works great.
