Hi!

I'm pretty new to trac, but I really like the whole concept.

We would like to deploy Trac as a general project management
application, that - as we are an IT support company - would have to
handle general issues (like say the foo printer misbehaves in the bar
company).
A lot of these issues have strict time constraints, so one has to keep
an eye on the deadline. The default setup of Trac having time
constraints only on Milestones doesn't scale really well to this type of
scenario.
I understand that maybe this is a little away from the initial goal of
Trac but this problem also applies to some software projects which - or
at least the commercial ones - have some predefined time limits, that
must be kept. And there are situations when Milestones can't cover the
needed functionality.

I tried to search trough the archives, to check if there are others who
need the same thing, or if there are some intentions to provide a
functionality like this, but I could not find any certain answers.
I found a mail on the list - right now I couldn't find the mail when
needed, but it was around June 2005 - which proposed a deadline field to
the issues.
And as I understand ticket #1962 is also about this.

What I'm asking is are there any plans to implement this in a short
period of time? The ticket says 0.12, but that has no estimated time.

Are there any other people also interested in this?
Is somebody currently working on it, or has anybody some initial work
into this?

Thanks in advance
Tylla
