Well, I was thinking that it would probably be possible to limit visible revisions to ones having at least one file in the subset, limit the repository browsing, obviously, and maybe it would be possible to show revisions that are partially in the subset with only those files that are actually in the subset. But this might prove hard to do from a performance standpoint (especially the part where all file changes in every revision are reviewed to see which one concern files in the subset).
By the way, I'm in the Netherlands, so that might be prohibitive for the bounty thing. Obviously I'd want to modify the patch so that it becomes fit for inclusion in the standard version.
