Take a look at "smtp_default_domain:" on the <http://projects.edgewall.com/trac/wiki/TracNotification> page. I'm not sure if this got merged back to 0.9 before 0.9.4 was created. If not I think you should be able to find a patch attached to a ticket at the Trac project site.
