Apologies for replying to my own post, but I'm at a total loss as to
what could be causing this slowdown, and it really affecting our work as
we use the timeline a lot to watch what's going on (it is one of Trac's
most useful features).

As noted above I tried resyncing the trac db against the repository to
no avail. We aren't having any other problems with the repository so I'm
certain that's not the problem. That only leaves the recent upgrade of
trac, which would indicate that a recent change has caused performance
of the timeline to degrade considerably.

Has anybody else noticed such a degradation in Timeline performance
following an upgrade to a recent version in trunk? Can anybody else
think of any other reason why this is is happening?

Thanks, and apologies once again for replying to myself. :)
