After getting all the pieces in place and showing it to management,
they have been favorably impressed with trac. There is one particular
issue where they'd like a different behavior from trac, and I wonder
if there's already a plugin or some configuration option to make it
behave like they want.
Basically they want attached images displayed by default in ticket
pages. I've checked the [[Image(<image name>)]] macro and it works
well, but it would be best if by default images would be shown in the
ticket pages instead of the links to them in the attachments section.
Other types could be also displayed by default (text files etc) but
those are the most important.
Another option would be automatically adding a comment that displays
the image in the ticket when an image attachment is added to it (so,
if you add Image "MyPicture.jpg" a comment with the content being
[[Image(MyPicture.jpg)]] would be automatically added to the ticket
discussion, displaying it.
If there's an existing way of doing it I'd be happy to learn about
it. Also if it's an existing enhancement request that is going to be
attended to in an existing milestone it will still be a good argument
for trac's roll out in our company.
