That postgres error also occurs when you try to connect to a remote server that was not started with the "-i" option. Without it, the postgres server does not accept remote connections. Also, be sure that you have a "host" entry defined in your pg_hba.conf.
Starting the server would be something like: pg_ctl start -D /path/to/data/dir -o "-i" -- Ian On Tue, April 25, 2006 8:44 am, John Hampton wrote: > Michael Daymond wrote: >> Failed to create environment. could not connect to server: Connection >> refused >> >> Is the server running on host "localhost" and accepting >> >> TCP/IP connections on port 5432? > > Have you made sure that it's accepting connections on port 5432 on > localhost? > > If this is a linux box, try: > > netstat -ltp > > That should show you the servers that are listening and which ports they > are listening on. > > My guess is that your postgres installation is set to only listen on > unix sockets. > > -John > _______________________________________________ > Trac mailing list > [email protected] > http://lists.edgewall.com/mailman/listinfo/trac > _______________________________________________ Trac mailing list [email protected] http://lists.edgewall.com/mailman/listinfo/trac
