Thanks for that but it's a typo in the email rather than a typo in the file.

so the correct entry is:
[bdg:/]
MYDOMAIN\brett.dellegrazie=rw

Any other ideas anyone?

Your permission line is flipped around, it should read:
 MYDOMAIN\brett.dellegrazie=rw
