Trac Community,

I am considering setting up Trac to replace an old, primative bug tracking database that I am currently using. I have some general Trac questionsthat I was hoping someone could answer for me:

1) Is it possible to have seperate Trac databases for multiple external customers to access? I would like to be able to have bugs submitted internally within the company, as well as externally by some OEM. However, I do not want OEM's to view all of the internal bugs. Also, I do no want different customers to view external bugs by a competitor. What is the best way to solve this problem?

2) I want to verify that it is possible to email bugs for testing automation. Is it possible to query the database through command line and submit a new bug through test automation of the bug does not already exists?

3) If there is a feature I would like to change/modify with Trac, is it best to modify the Trac source code directly and be part of the open source development team or are there a set of API's that I can call that will make Trac modifications easier?

4) Finally, is there anything about Trac that you DON'T like? So far, everything I have been reading has been positive. I am curious what feature might be improved on.

Any information you could give would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

Cliff
