Thanks, Matthew.  Got it finally.  This page - http://dev.muness.textdriven.com/trac.cgi/wiki/tags/Setup - suggests that I could just right click on the egg file to download it, don't you think?

You downloaded the HTML attachment page, not the actual file.  You need
to go back and redownload it.
